Richard Bates, alinea Associate and BIM Specialist, will be guest lecturer at Kingston University and the University of Westminster.
On Friday 21st October, he will be talking to Kingston BSc students about his BIM experience, the practicalities and benefits to the QS and demonstrating some of the software we use.
Next week, on Monday 24th, Richard will be assisting with Westminster’s BSc Cost Studies module. A real BIM project will run through the module utilising various sources of information – increasing in detail – as the module progresses. The module will start today with a lecture about his BIM experience, the practicalities and benefits of BIM to the QS and demonstrating some of the software in use. He will then support the students to discover methods of gathering the data they require. At the end of the module the students will present their findings and cost proposals to Richard and Paul Allen, a founding partner of alinea.
