We are attending the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) 2024 Europe Conference

Turner & Townsend alinea Director and CTBUH Deputy Board Chair & Partner Steve Watts and Turner & Townsend Project Management colleague Hugo Viner are looking forward to attending the CTBUH 2024 Europe Conference, in Istanbul, Turkey, this week.

The ‘Future-Fit Cities: Safer, Adaptive Density in a Changing Era’ conference is the second CTBUH Europe conference and will also host the second meeting of the CTBUH’s new City Advocacy Forum, an initiative strategically developed to address key topics, opportunities, and challenges facing cities today. The discussions will centre around density, climate resiliency, and social equity, involving a panel of experts representing Istanbul, Oslo, Tirana and London:

  • Furkan Demirci, Chairman of the Board, Turkish Design Council
  • Mansoor Hussain, Politician, Urbanist & Advisor, Storm Samfunn, Oslo
  • Anisa Mance, General Director of Urban Planning and Development, Municipality of Tirana
  • Peter Murray, Curator-in-Chief & Co-Founder, New London Architecture, London

This discussion will open the conference and will again be moderated by Steve Watts, following a similar role at the first such event in Miami in February. Steve is looking forward to gaining an understanding of how this diverse group of cities is rising to meet the challenges of the modern era and what they may look from each other.
