During the 2019 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference, dignitaries gathered at the Signboard Inauguration Ceremony for the Ping An Finance Center, confirming it as the world’s tallest all-office building, and the tallest building in Southern China.
The event took place at the Ping An Finance Center, and was hosted by CTBUH China Office Director Dr. Peng Du. Huichuan Ren, General Manager of Ping An China Group, spoke first, extending thanks to all the delegates who took the time to be present. Ren then talked about the process of constructing and designing such a formidable project, and how it was engineered to achieve such a robust connectivity with the pedestrian and transit networks surrounding it. Then, CTBUH Chairman Steve Watts, Partner, alinea consulting, thanked delegates for attending this auspicious moment for tall buildings in Shenzhen.
