We are pleased to share that Hilson Moran’s new London home, the Living Lab, recently achieved practical completion.
Turner & Townsend alinea provided cost management services on the scheme, which involved taking one building floor, circa 13,000 sq ft, from shell and core to Cat B fit-out. Located in Shackleton House, Hays Galleria, sustainability was the key focus from the outset, with the project targeting BREEAM Outstanding and WELL Platinum – setting long-term staff wellbeing as a priority throughout.
Work started on-site in November 2023, with the wider project team comprising Hilson Moran, Gensler, Pellings and ISG. This collaboration involved not only the external consultants but also the internal team of specialist engineers, designers, acousticians , sustainability consultants, and other staff at Hilson Moran. The team came together to create something special: a bespoke new home for Hilson Moran, one that will foster experimentation and learning, inspire collaboration, and facilitate business growth.
The hub’s open design encourages collaboration; visitors and clients can easily explore ideas and services on offer in the exhibition area, and the space provides a platform for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase innovative products. Some key design elements implemented to bring the project to life and enhance the sustainability credentials included Eco Duct non-metallic pre-insulated duct work, various fan coil unit types, recycled raised access floor and Humanscale office chairs made from recycled fishing nets.
