We are delighted that 18 Blackfriars (The Round) has secured full planning approval, a fantastic achievement for Hines, Lipton Rogers, Foster + Partners, and the wider team.
Southwark Council gave Hines the green light to move forward on the development that will encompass a 45-storey office tower and 433 homes within two adjacent 40 and 22-storey residential buildings, all supported by a rich public realm.
Turner & Townsend alinea (TTa) is providing cost management services on the office tower, basements, and public realm, working collaboratively with Gardiner & Theobald who are responsible for the commercial aspects of the residential buildings.
TTa Director Steve Watts says: “This site has been awaiting redevelopment for a long time, with many investors having previously looked at it without success. It’s a high-quality scheme that Hines and Lipton Rogers have brought forward, with a state-of-the-art office tower and supporting infrastructure that will push amenity provision to the next level.”
