The Hill, Wimbledon

The enhancement works to The Hill at Wimbledon are scheduled to commence following the conclusion of The Championships 2026, significantly improving accessibility and viewing opportunities.

The planned developments will significantly improve accessibility and viewing opportunities on The Hill. Wheelchair access will be transformed across all levels, including the Orchard and Pergola areas at the top. New low retaining walls will be introduced to create more seating and reduce the steepness of the existing tiers. This will enhance visibility of the No.1 Court large screen and make the space more comfortable for all visitors. These changes will also allow for a 20% increase in capacity, enabling more guests to enjoy the area during events.

In addition to accessibility and seating improvements, the environment around The Hill will be upgraded. Existing paths will be replaced with permeable pathways to support better drainage and sustainability. A new pergola will provide both sun shading and rain cover, improving comfort in all weather conditions.

The plans also focus on enhancing biodiversity, with a vibrant new floral display on the uppermost tier and the creative use of flowers to replace some permanent signage, adding natural beauty and charm to the space.
